Sarah L. (Sally) Blackford, age 85 died February 19, 2008 in her home.? Born in Glen Fron, PA she moved to Phoenixville more than 50 years ago.? She served in the United States Army and upon her discharge was employed as Chief of Communications at the Valley Forge Army Hospital until its closing in 1974.? She also served as Girl Scout troop Leader and was a roller skating enthusiast who refereed artistic competition.??
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby, wife of R. Roberts Baldwin of Carmel, California.? She is survived by a nephew, Geoffrey Baldwin and a great nephew, Ian of Portola Valley, California.??
