Scott Robert Jenkins, age 47, husband of RoseMarie (McElhenny) Jenkins, of Pottstown, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, PA. Born on March 1, 1978 in West Chester, PA, he was the beloved son of Michael and Paula (Faria) Jenkins, of West Grove, PA. Scott was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Ralph and Irene (Holland) Jenkins; and Arnold and Mary (Viana) Faria.
Scott graduated in June of 1996 from Avon Grove High School in West Grove, PA, and furthered his education by receiving his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from West Chester University. Scott honorably and proudly served in the United States Army, following in the military tradition of his grandfather, Ralph (Navy), and his father, Michael (Marines). He was a Combat Engineer, serving in Korea, Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, Fort Carson in Colorado, and for the Army National Guard in Delaware, honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist E4 on December 1, 2001.
Scott began his work in social services, supporting youth and adults in the tri-county area. Since 2006, Scott has proudly worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs, most recently as a Congressional Liaison. Scott was a fierce advocate for veterans, fighting passionately for the rights of our veterans to receive their benefits, services and supports born of their sacrifices. He was an expert in his field and was meticulous in his advocacy for veterans here in the Philadelphia area and across the nation.
In addition to his wife and parents, Scott is survived by three incredible children, Michael J. Jenkins, Andrew R. Jenkins, and Emily L. Jenkins; one cherished sister, Sally Ann (Jenkins) Baer, wife of Paul Baer; and one nephew, Luke Baer. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles, who all loved him dearly.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Visitation will take place from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. There will be no services to follow the visitation. Scott will be buried in a private military service.
