Shane J. Bouder, age 18, of Media, PA, formerly Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born on September 26, 2002 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of Elizabeth K. McGowan of Drexel Hill, PA and Kenneth E. Bouder Jr., husband of Sarah Bouder of Media, PA.
Shane was set to graduate from the Penncrest High School in two short months, where he was enrolled in several honors and AP classes, was highly academically focused, and was a passionate and accomplished wrestler. He recently was accepted to Penn State at the University Park, where he planned to major in marketing and business administration, and had formerly dreamed of becoming a medical transcriber.
Shane spent much of his time helping and volunteering within the community. This included attending Wednesday evening and Sunday church events at the Blue Route Vineyard Church in Media, where often times he helped with childcare. Until very recently, Shane also was helping a neighbor reconstruct a deck, and task he was instrumental in helping complete.
With a friendly and a socially engaging personality, Shane had a flirtatious charm to him from a very young age. He was the best big brother, who assisted his father in the role of caring for his siblings. In between the many jokes he would play on them, he always uplifted and pushed for them to be the best they could be. Shane also enjoyed traveling to the Jersey Shore with his buddies, which typically included trips to Wildwood or to Ocean City.
In addition to his parents, Shane is survived by three siblings, Josh Bouder, Ashley Bouder, and Maureen Bouder; one step-brother, Colby Cover; his maternal grandmother, Marie McGowan; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth E. Bouder Sr. and Goldie Bouder; three Uncles, Jack, Francis, and Charles McGowan; great-Uncle Charles Costello, great-Aunt Mary Raab, great-Aunt Rita Ream, great-Uncle Ron Bouder, and great-Uncle Dan Bouder.
