Sheena C. Vinson, age 35, of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 in the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, after a courageous battle with Stage 4 Glioblastoma. She received her diagnosis on May 24, 2020 and was only given a two week survival rate. A fighter, Sheena lived another 14 months post-diagnosis and received treatment at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson University Hospital. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Born on May 14, 1985 in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of Johnny Handberry, of Royersford and Pamela Vinson, of Spring City.
While attending Roosevelt High School, Sheena played volleyball and field hockey. As an adult, she played flag football for the Vixens, in a women's league in Norristown. Sheena was a hard worker, most recently having been employed as a delivery driver for FEDEX. She previously worked part-time as a bartender at the Legion and also Elmwood Lounge, in Norristown and through her love of kids, worked in childcare, with babies, at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.
Sheena enjoyed traveling, dancing, music and was a great cook. She was goofy and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed attending comedy shows and making others laugh. Sheena was an all around good person who was full of so much life. Her family was her everything. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved when family would get together, but most importantly, she loved time spent with her children.
In addition to her parents, Sheena is survived by her children: Ayonia Vinson, Jahiem Vinson and Syncere Vinson-Perry; grandson: Roman Rosario; siblings: Hakeem Vinson, of Pottstown and Tahira Vinson, of Pottstown; maternal grandmother: Virginia Vinson, of Phoenixville; maternal grandfather: William Vinson, of Spring City; niece: Jonerah Vinson; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and her brother-dog: Tiki.
Relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 - 11:00 am on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. A graveside service will be held at approximately 12:00 pm Noon at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Rt. 724 and Hanover Street, Pottstown. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Nathan Coleman.
