Shirley A. Beard, wife of the late Richard A. Beard Sr., of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville. Born on July 17, 1940 in Phoenixville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Rutter) Dell.

Mrs. Beard was a homemaker, and was always there for her family. Along with her husband, she enjoyed camping and NASCAR, as well as completing word search puzzles.

Mrs. Beard is survived by three children, Linda J., wife of Edwin Boettger Jr. of Spring City, PA, Shirley A. Eckman of Phoenixville, PA and Richard A. Jr., husband of Joann Beard of Altoona, PA; two grandchildren, Jonathan Boettger and Madison Beard; two step-grandsons, Brett and Neil Vanderslice; two siblings, William, husband of Joyce Dell and Jean, wife of Jack Mourar; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Fay Beard, wife of the late Wilmer Beard.

Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Lung Association, 625 N.
