Sidney C. Howard, 75, husband of Helen Yvonne (Huffman) Howard, of Royersford, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014, at his residence. Born in Royersford, he was the son of the late John and Lucy Mae (Pierce) Howard. Sid was born on 2nd Avenue, lived on 2nd Avenue and passed away on 2nd Avenue.
Sid had been employed by Upper Merion and Plymouth Railroad Company, Eastern Game Farm, Royersford Borough and as a car jockey for Car Smart in Douglassville. An outdoorsman, Sid was a past president of Limerick Bowmen and was a life member of the NRA. He was an avid turkey hunter who made his own turkey calls so he could learn more about turkeys. Sid also loved to drive the open road, learning his way around, never stopping to ask directions.
In addition to his loving wife of 53 years, Sid is survived by his children, Kim Howard, of Pottstown and Curt, husband of Kara Howard, of Maryland; sister, Virginia Newett, of Royersford; and four grandchildren, Cody and Summer Howard and Ariel and Travis Coulter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sid’s memorial service on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Friendship Fire Company, 269 Green Street, Royersford, with the Rev. Jack A. Mason officiating. A celebration of life and sharing memories will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sid’s name to the NWTF Development Department, National Wild Turkey Federation, P.O. Box 530, Edgefield, SC 29824 or to a charity of choice.
