Obituary

Stanley J. Kopistecki, Jr., 62, of East Coventry, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Reading Hospital. Born August 5, 1955 in Phoenixville and raised in the Spring-Ford area, he was the son of Stanley J. and Eleanor (Ochs) Kopistecki, Sr. of Royersford.

A graduate of Spring-Ford High School, class of 1974, Stanley studied agriculture at the local vo-tech school, where during his senior year he served as President of the FFA. After graduation, he continued his lifelong love for farming and began working at the dairy at Norristown State Hospital. Shortly thereafter, he started his own dairy farm, before taking employment at Walebe Farms. He ultimately became the manager of the dairy at SCI-Graterford. He retired from Graterford as a boiler plant operator after 35 years of service.

Stanley was an avid volleyball player, competing in 3-4 different leagues and playing 5-6 days per week well into his 50's. He followed dirt track and NASCAR racing, and was an avid Penn State, Eagles and Phillies fan. In his youth, he had been a member of the Montgomery County 4-H Dairy Club. His love of animals was always evident, especially with his cat, Kiki and his dog, Sheldon.

Stanley was a loyal, hardworking man, who instilled a strong work ethic within his children. He always exemplified a sense of duty toward his family.

In addition to his parents, Stanley is survived by his children: Megan R. Kopistecki, wife of Ronald Gonzalez, of Jackson Heights, NY, David S. Kopistecki, of Mont Clare and Ella Kopistecki, of Narragansett, RI; and his sisters: Teresa Kelsch, of Columbia Cross Roads and Kathleen Greer, of Elverson.
