Susan Eileen (Crouthamel) Ottinger, age 69, wife of James B. Ottinger, of Elverson, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in her residence. Born on June 18, 1954, in Sellersville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Evelyn (Rummel) and Paul Willard Crouthamel.

A 1972 graduate of Pennridge High School, in Perkasie, Susan had been a devoted house wife and mother. She most recently had been employed with Chester County Parks and Recreation at Warwick County Park and Springton Manor Farm in the Manor House.

Susan enjoyed gardening, traveling within the United States, jigsaw puzzle assembly, and was an avid reader. She was a member of numerous sewing clubs and especially enjoyed quilting. Susan and Jim had been members of St. Peter United Church of Christ Knauertown from 1986 - 2007 and again from 2014 to the present and members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dothan, Alabama from 2007 to 2014, while at both Churches, she held the office of financial secretary and other various volunteer positions.

In addition to her loving husband, Susan is survived by her children: Gregory J. (Deena) Ottinger, of Brentwood, TN, Derek J. (Elizabeth) Ottinger, of West Chester, PA and Lynette S. Ottinger, of Morgantown, PA; grandchildren: Nathaniel, Connor, Kiera, Grace and CJ; and siblings: James Crouthamel, Philip Crouthamel, Eleanor Procht, Mary Kelly, Kathy Stubbs, Lou Ann Massey and Kerry Crouthamel. She was preceded in death by a grandson: Nicholas Ottinger.

Friends will be received from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, Thursday evening, July 27, at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford and from 9:30 - 10:45 am Friday morning at St. Peter United Church of Christ. Relatives and friends are additionally invited to attend her memorial service on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 am, at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 1920 Ridge Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. Officiating will be Peter Detterline. Inurnment will follow in the St. Peter U.C.C. Knauertown Cemetery.
