Thelma A. Harner, age 91, wife of the late Rev. William E. Harner Jr., of Reiffton, died Friday, April 20, 2018 surrounded by her family at her daughter's Green Hills home.
Born on December 18, 1926 in Boyertown, she was a daughter of the late George and Kathryn (Angstadt) Reinert. She and Bill married in Pottstown on July 5, 1947. After which, they embarked on over 50 years in the ministry serving churches in Shoemakersville, Bethlehem, Gibraltar, Amityville, and Boyertown respectively. She will be remembered for her love of baking, cooking, and sewing. She also enjoyed going on shopping trips throughout Lancaster County and Thursdays with her son. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. And after caring for all of her loved ones throughout her whole life, she was comforted and cared for by them in return for the last two weeks, until God called her home.
She was a member of Salem U.C.C. Spangsville and a life member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by Daughter, Kathryn L., wife of Gregory McCord of Green Hills, PA; Son, William E. III, and wife Ruth Harner of Boyertown, PA; Two Brothers, Merrill, husband of Marie Reinert of Birdsboro, PA, Eugene husband of Grace Reinert of Boyertown, PA; Sister, Grace, wife of Ray Ingham of Birdsboro, PA; 6 Grandchilden: William E. IV (Erica) Harner, George (Jamie) Harner, Jason (Heather) McCord, Daniel (Valerie) McCord, Kristin (Mark) Swartley, and Katie (Daniel) Munn; 13 Great-grandchildren: Adison, Reagan, William V., Travis, and Gavin Harner; Teagan, Willa, Mazie, and Mackenna McCord; Kole and Reid Swartley; Hadley and Keenan Munn, and many Nieces and Nephews. Thelma was also pre-deceased a Sister, Jeanette Endy and Brother, Lloyd Reinert.
