Theodore L. Carl, age 77, husband of Diana M. (Schlichter) Carl, of East Coventry, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 in Pottstown Hospital. Born on April 22, 1945 in Limerick, he was a son of the late Mazie (Yost) and Wayne Carl, Sr.

Ted served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Along with his wife, he owned and operated the Wayne Carl Garage in Limerick. Ted was a supporter of many charitable causes, including those near and dear to his wife, such as the Relay For Life of Pottstown, where he would help setup Diana's team tents or host yard sales at the shop or help financially support the Soroptimist Club of Pottstown.

Ted had a love for animals, and although he may not have wanted any, he did care for the 25 year family pet bird, which unfortunately passed away the day before Ted went into the hospital. A Ford man through and through, Ted had a passion for cars and previously drag raced at Maple Grove.

In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Ted is survived by his sons: Ray Hilborn and wife, Mary, of Douglassville and Timothy Carl, of Birdsboro; and grandchildren: Kasey Hilborn and Maisy Carl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Wayne Carl, Jr., Robert Carl, Joyce Nonnamaker, Kenneth Carl and Thomas Carl.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Spring City American Legion, Thomas W. O'Connor Post 602, 27 N. Main Street, Spring City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ted's name to a local food bank of your choice.
