Obituary

Theresa F. Cooney, age 50, wife of Michael J. Cooney, of Spring City, PA, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in the Phoenixville Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 21, 1971 in Queens, NY, she was a daughter of Vincent Murray of Phoenixville, PA and the late Frances Rose Murray.

Theresa attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, and graduated from St. Agnes Academic High School in Queens, NY. She received her bachelor's degree in education from St. John's University, and loved the time she spent working with her children at Holy Family School in Phoenixville, PA. Most importantly, she cherished the time she spent with her family, doting on her children and supporting them through their many activities.

In addition to her husband, Theresa is survived by three children, Kristen Rose, Michael, and Matthew Cooney; one brother, Vincent, husband of Jessica Murray of Long Island, NY; three nephews, Vinny, Joey and Mikey Murray; her in-laws, Roseann and Michael Cooney of Phoenixville, PA; and her brother-in-law, Brian, husband of Deanna Cooney of East Coventry.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at the St. Joseph R.C. Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA 19475 on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022 at 12:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Charles F. O'Hara. Burial will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm and again from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA. There will be no viewing in Church on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Make a Wish by visiting www.wish.org/donate. Condolences may be made by visiting www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville, PA.
