Theresa (Swartz) Ferko, age 84, wife of the late Edward P. Ferko, Sr., of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 in her home. Born on August 4, 1938, in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Anna M. (Karmazinski) and Peter J. Swartz.

A 1956 graduate of Phoenixville High School, Theresa had been employed as a secretary for MetLife Insurance Company. She was an avid reader who worked at the Phoenixville Public Library and had volunteered for the libraries when her children were in school.

Theresa enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially taking trips to the beach, including Wildwood, NJ with her extended family, Aruba and Hawaii. Her favorite flower was the crocus as it represented the coming of spring. She was a word game aficionado, and a loyal watcher of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune - a hobby she loved to share with her grandchildren. Her extensive collection of board games and toys kept friends and family endlessly entertained.

Theresa had a sweet tooth for chocolate and kept secret her recipe for Midnight Cake, her specialty dessert. Theresa was fond of iPhone emojis, and made her grandchildren smile by sending her favorite ones frequently.

She is survived by her children: Cynthia A., wife of William Chicchi, of Limerick, Trisha A., wife of Thomas Dean, of Newark, DE, Pamela A. Ferko, of West Chester, PA and Edward P., Jr., husband of Alyson Ferko, of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Heather, Holly, Alyssa, Nina, Ryan, Anna, Laura and Shannon; and great-grandson: Billy. She was preceded in death by her brother: Eugene Swartz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 10:00 am, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville. Officiating will be the Rev. John P. Hutter. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:00 - 9:45 am at the Church.
