Obituary

Thomas Franklin Alberts, age 89, husband of Ruthanne Alberts of Linfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Born in Verona, PA, he was the son of Dorothy (Richards) and Lewis Alberts.

Thom was a graduate of Eddystone High School. He served Honorably in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959. Thom was an active member of the Steamfitters Union Local 420, Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge, Shriners Rajah Lodge and American Legion Post 92. He enjoyed traveling, watching Fox News, and cheering on Penn State and the Eagles. Also Frank Sinatra never had a bigger fan than Thom.
Professionally he held many roles and positions in the mechanical engineering industry. Probably his favorite assignment was as the project manager on the three year construction of a power plant in Rayong, Thailand. There he was able to add to his already large collection of elephants. Before retiring at 70, his last assignment was the construction of the energy plant at Lake Ontelaunee, Reading, PA which brought him closer to home. This allowed him to raise his two younger granddaughters after the death of his daughter, Lynne.

He is survived by his loving wife Ruthanne Alberts, his daughter Lisa (late Richard) Carns, his grandchildren Cassandra (Joseph) Anczarski, Christiana Carns (fiance' Daniel Lange) , Melanie Andrews, Marissa Andrews, and his great grandchildren, Scarlett, Joey and Otto Anczarski. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lynne Alberts, and his brothers, Edward Alberts and John Alberts.
