Thomas R. Ashbaugh, age 72, husband of Esther L. (Sprowls) Ashbaugh, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 in the Reading Hospital. Born on April 1, 1951 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Roy and Florence (Gremmel) Ashbaugh.

Tom was a graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia, and he received his bachelor's degree from Eastern University in St. David's, PA. He worked as a quality control director for Cherrydale Farms / Bazzini in Allentown.

Tom was a faithful member of the GraceCrossing Community Church in Phoenixville. He was active in several leadership roles, including the church's music program, food pantry, and facilities management. For over 30 years, he was a member of the Christian Artist Singers.

He loved his grandchildren and being with his family, and he looked forward to yearly trips to the beach and the Harvey Cedars Bible Conference. Tom was an avid gardener, and he took pride in his flowers. In his younger years, he enjoyed building model cars. More recently, he enjoyed working on and collecting cars. He loved his pets (mostly cats), and they loved him back by giving him great comfort during his times of illness.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by three children, Matthew Ashbaugh, Rachel, wife of Nathaniel Imhoff, and Adam Ashbaugh; grandchildren, Aryanna, Fiona, and Judah; brother, John, husband of Lisa Ashbaugh; mother-in-law, Sara Sprowls; sister-in-law, Ruth Johnson; brothers-in law, David Sprowls and Mark Sprowls; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the GraceCrossing Community Church, 248 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Pastor Dan McDowell. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 9:00 am - 10:45 am on Saturday morning at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the GraceCrossing Community Church at the address above.
