Thomas J. Markert, age 63, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at home after a lengthy illness. Born on November 15, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late James and Anna (Miller) Markert.
Mr. Markert was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School, and was a faithful member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Royersford. He was a fan of Mopar, owning and working on many vehicles. He also enjoyed Mopar shows and drag races. Mr. Markert was a model train fanatic, collecting various sizes of trains and attending train shows. He cherished the time he spent with his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Markert is survived by three siblings, George R., husband of Linda L. (Mahoney) Markert of Royersford, PA, Claire A. Markert of Royersford, PA, and Marie P. (Markert), wife of the late Donald H. Gebhard Sr. of Royersford, PA; two sisters-in-law, Judith E. (Beckman), wife of the late James P. Markert of Royersford, PA, and Margaret A. (Peranteau), wife of the late David C. Markert of Lansdale, PA; fourteen nieces and nephews and fourteen great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Markert was preceded in death by his two brothers, James and David.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Tadeusz Gorka. Burial will be held in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home.
