Thomas Nichols, age 89, husband of Catherine Nichols, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at home. Born on October 20, 1936 in West Chester, PA, he was a son of the late Alonzo T. and Ruth F. (Baldwin) Nichols.
Mr. Nichols attended Norristown High School, and he was a member of the Pawling Chapel in Phoenixville. He began his career in the electronics industry working for RCA, repairing televisions and installing antennas and intercoms. He went on to operate Tom's Electronics in Phoenixville for the majority of his career, eventually transitioning from television and communication repair and installation into computer consulting for Bryn Mawr Terrace. Early electronics and computers were more than a job: they were his passion.
Mr. Nichols was the true definition of a craftsman. He found joy in carpentry and woodworking, oftentimes building, fixing, and tinkering. He enjoyed designing and creating a beautiful outdoor landscape at his home, building ponds, gardens and taking great pride in his property.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, Mr. Nichols is survived by three children, Linda Kennedy, Annette, wife of Gary Kanost, and Thomas, husband of Jennifer Nichols; nine grandchildren, David, Jennifer, and Janet Kennedy, Kelly, Lauren, Michael and Megan Kanost, and Graeme and Ty Nichols; two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Benjamin; a sister, Jeanne Hain; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life to be held in the Pawling Chapel Saturday July 18th, 2026 at 2 PM. A time of sharing and fellowship will be held in the lower level following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Pawling Chapel, 400 Pawlings Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
