Thomas P. Smith, age 69, husband of Susan (Allen) Smith, of Phoenixville, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 in Phoenixville Hospital. Born on September 15, 1950 in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Ann (Tomcho) and James Smith.

A Class of 1968 graduate of Phoenixville High School, Smitty served in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at BF Goodrich until its closure, followed by Cloud 9 and the Stables in Phoenixville and lastly at Old Philadelphia Public House and its sister restaurants until his 2014 retirement. Smitty enjoyed going out to see his friends and watching sports, but his love was to watch his children play sports. For many years he umpired at both PYBRL and Babe Ruth in Phoenixville.

In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Smith is survived by his children: James Smith, of Phoenixville and Virginia Smith, wife of Austin Alfonsi, of Phoenixville; and siblings: James Smith, Phyllis Farrer, Patrick Smith, Gregory Smith and Mark Smith.

Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Smitty's name to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005, www.heart.org/donate.
