Vernon Robert Guest, age 96, husband of LaRue Pearl (Law) Guest, of East Nantmeal, PA, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at his home. Born on the farm on November 16, 1924 in East Nantmeal, he was a son of the late Thomas Strickland Guest and Irene Bechtel (Latshaw) Guest.

Vernon was a dairy farmer his entire life. He was a 1942 graduate of Warwick High School, and a lifelong member of Coventryville United Methodist Church. He served on the East Nantmeal Planning Commission for many years and was a longtime member of the PA Farm Bureau, and the Chester County and PA Holstein Associations. Vernon enjoyed reading as well as listening to baseball games. He also loved spending time with his family and in retirement, watching the on-going farm life from his front porch.

In addition to his wife of 71 years, Mr. Guest is survived by four children, Sharon Guest-Tagliavento of Pottstown, PA, Stanley V., husband of Catherine Guest of Pottstown, PA, Beverly G., wife of Ronald Walton of Conestoga, PA, and Darrell Strickland Guest, husband of Laura Guest of Pottstown, PA; eight grandchildren, Christin (Varun), Bradley, Andrew, Nathan (Emily), Kara (Kyle), Dylan, Hayden (Leanne), and Regan Pearl; five great-grandchildren, Arjun, Asha, James, Henry, and Bria; one sister, Myrna Rhodes; and many nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by seven siblings.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 pm on Saturday, November 6 at Coventryville United Methodist Church at 1521 Old Ridge Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coventryville United Methodist Church at the address above.
