Vincent Mark Gryscavage Sr., husband of Louise A. Gryscavage, of Royersford, passed away on July 13, 2013. He found his ultimate peace surrounded by his family.
Born in Ashley, PA, Vince was one of six children and son of the late Vincent and Alexandria Gryscavage. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Louise A. (Salvi) Gryscavage.
He completed his undergraduate work at King College and his Master's degree at Syracuse University. He began his professional career as a science teacher in Binghamton, NY and later to moved to Philadelphia, PA where he began his second career as a chemist.
His strong belief in church and community, motivated him to become a Eucharistic minister at Sacred Heart Church. He was also an active participant in the Knights of Columbus where he earned his fourth degree status.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, Vince is survived by daughter Anne (Gryscavage) and her husband Subash Reddy, MD of Huntingdon Valley, PA; son Vincent Jr. and his wife, Lisa Gryscavage of Jupiter, FL; and son Anthony and his wife, Christine Gryscavage of Limerick, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church, Walnut Street at Lewis Road, Royersford on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Peter J. DiMaria. Burial will be private. Friends will be received at the Church Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
