Virginia Ruth (Forrester) Ferguson, age 95, wife of the late Donald R. Ferguson of Audubon, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 in the Meadows at Shannondell. Born on October 6, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, she was a daughter of Cecil and Cecil (Trease) Forrester.

At a young age, married and raising three young children, Virginia knew that her husband was not well, with a bad heart. She knew he wouldn't be around for a long time to support their family, so she attended college classes on television and graduated with honors from the Chicago Teacher's College. She had been employed as a teacher at the Marshall Street School, in Norristown, PA for over 20 years until her retirement in 1993. She was very active in the school, as she was proud to work with the school's play productions.

Virginia and Donald loved to travel, making several trips to Europe, Scotland, England, Switzerland and Alaska. She was a great cook, a lifelong learner, loved to read and loved to attend plays and the theater.

Both Virginia and Donald were terrific with helping with their grandchildren. Virginia never hesitated to help her children with the grandchildren whenever there was a need and was very active in the grandchildren's lives. They even took the grandchildren on trips out west. Once the great-grandchildren started arriving, Virginia became crazy about them, and they could do no wrong.

Virginia is survived by her children: Pamela Heisey and Donald, husband of Robin Ferguson; daughter-in-law: Beverly Ferguson; grandchildren: Joanne, Mark, Catherine and Susan Heisey, Bob Ferguson and Stacey Ferguson; and great-grandchildren: Shae, Joseph, Evan, Garrett, Hudson and Hayden. She was preceded in death by a son, David A. Ferguson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford.
