Virginia May (Rogers) Smith, age 93, of Phoenixville, PA, wife of the late James E. Smith,(both formally of Morgantown, West Virginia), died early Wednesday morning, December 22, 2010 in Parkhouse Providence Pointe. Born in Rosebud (Lumberport) West Virginia she was the daughter of the late John Hazel and Erma (Wilkinson) Rogers. Virginia was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Phoenixville, as well as serving at the Senior Center. Mrs Smith was a hairdresser in West Virginia for over 60 years and owner of the Vir-May Beauty Salon on Brockway Avenue in Morgantown, WV. She thoroughly enjoyed crafting, sewing and traveling and was a terrific mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Rogers) Gilchrist, of Phoenixville, PA and stepdaughter, Rhonda K. Smith of Morgantown, WV. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Michael Gilchrist and Christel Gilchrist Dudley and three Great Granddaughters. Mrs. Smith is pre-deceased by two brothers, John and Ray Rogers of West Virginia.
