Walter C. "Walt" Fresch, age 93, husband of Dolores (Alo) Fresch, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at home. Born in Erie, PA, he was a son of the late Lorene (Kessler) Fresch and Willard, husband of Lillian Fresch.
Mr. Fresch was a graduate of Erie Technical High School, and he honorably served in the United States Navy. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University, where he was a member of the TKE Fraternity. Mr. Fresch was an electrical engineer and V.P. at Burroughs/Unisys, retiring after more than 30 years of employment.
Mr. Fresch was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of the Chester Valley Sportsmen's Association. He enjoyed cards games, especially bridge and poker.
Mr. Fresch had a genuine disposition and was kind and funny. He enjoyed being around others, and loved spending time with his family. He served as President of the Phoenixville YMCA Board of Directors, and he volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity and in the Coldstream Crossing community where he resided.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, Mr. Fresch is survived by two children, Danine, wife of Brian Gray and Mark, husband of Lisa Fresch; five grandchildren, Cailyn (Reeves), Kyra (Cameron), Brendan, Amelia, and Charlie; two siblings, Marian Miller and Roger, husband of Helen Fresch; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Leona Tochenny, Benjamin Fresch, and Richard Fresch.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Patient Care Hospice, 995 Old Eagle School Road, Suite 315, Wayne, PA 19087.
