William R. Cox, age 81, of Audubon, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020. Born on October 1, 1938 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late William and Margaret (Buzzard) Cox.
Mr. Cox was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, and served honorably for four years in the United States Air Force. He retired following a lengthy career as a communications manager for GlaxoSmithKline. Mr. Cox was a member of the Audubon Rod and Gun Club, and in his younger years was a member of the Philadelphia Rugby Club and loved to play golf. He had a passion for riding and racing motorcycles in his youth, and more recently loved to read and perform leather work.
Mr. Cox is survived by three children, Joseph K., husband of Marlene Cox of Reading, PA, Traci C., wife of Andrew Forbes of Flourtown, PA, and Melanie L. Cox, wife of Francis Johnson of Bury St. Edmunds, Great Britian; six grandchildren; three siblings, John Cox of Spring City, PA, Arthur, husband of Bonnie Cox of South Carolina, and Carolyn, wife of David Scholl of Birdsboro, PA. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by one son, Brian S. Cox, and one brother, Ronald Cox.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at the St. Ann Chapel, 604 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Friends will be received at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA from 10:00 am - 10:45 am Monday. Masks will be required to enter, and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
