William E. Criswell, of Oaks, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009, at Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Earl and Mary (Mulry) Criswell and the husband of Kathleen (Aquilante) Criswell and the late Rose (Jeffries) Criswell.
Mr. Criswell Graduated from St. Matthews High School in Conshohocken and was later employed with Fleming Foods Distribution Center where he worked for 48 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a U.S. veteran having served in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Smith of Berwyn and Shelley Criswell of Oaks, two sons, Timothy Criswell and his wife Donna of Worcester and Edward Criswell, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, sister Eleanor Gilinger of Limerick, and brother Earl Criswell of Skippack. He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jane and a grandson Timothy Smith.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA. Calling time is from 12 - 1 p.m. Interment is private.
