William J. Detwiler, age 97, husband of the late Jean (Jeffers) Detwiler, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Manatawny Manor. Born on December 31, 1924 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Lawrence P. and Edna P. (Sipple) Detwiler.

Mr. Detwiler was employed as a milkman for Deger Dairies before working at B.F. Goodrich in Oaks, PA. He was an active member of the Phoenixville Senior Center where he made many friends. In addition, Mr. Detwiler was a member of the West End Fire Company, where he enjoyed shooting in the dart league. He was also an avid pool player, often times playing at Valley Forge Fire Company. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, and he was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Mr. Detwiler is survived by four daughters, Beverly E., wife of Anton Elamma of Perkiomenville, PA, Barbara, wife of Michael Lee of Oaks, PA, Virginia A., wife of Harry Long of Phoenixville, PA, and Patricia A. Trainer of Collegeville, PA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas L. Detwiler.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Phoenixville Senior Center, 153 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
