Obituary

William L. Guhl, of Kimberton, died on Friday at Phoenixville Hospital at age 75. He was the husband of Sylvia (Peatman) Guhl.?He was born in Philadelphia to the late William A. and Edna (Miller) Guhl.?


William served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed for forty years with Pennsylvania Lumbermans Mutual Life Insurance Company, Philadelphia, PA retiring in 1997.?Among his activities, he was a member of First United Methodist Church, Phoenixville and former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Elkins Park.? He also was a member of American Legion Post 945, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Society for American Baseball Research.? He also played in the Phillies Dream Week as well as the Northeast Philadelphia and Insurance Softball Leagues respectively.?


In addition to his wife of 41 years he is survived by: daughters, Heidi L. Guhl, of Phoenixville and ?Patricia A. Griffin, wife of Brian, of Roxborough and son, ?William A. Guhl, of Pennsauken, NJ, as well as two nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.?


Services are Thursday 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, corner of Melrose Ave. and Old York Road, Elkins Park.? Burial in Northwood Cemetery.? Calling time is from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
