William E. Harbison, Sr. 92, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 in Paoli Hospital, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Born on March 30, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Betz) Harbison. Bill was the loving husband of Cecilia (York) Harbison, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.

A veteran, Bill honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. During his time in the Air Force, he earned the Korean Service Medal with Battle Star, The United Nations Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal.

After leaving the service Bill went on to work as an Electronic Technician for Western Electric Company (AT &T). He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. In his free time Bill enjoyed bowling in a league, and lightweight boxing. He was incredibly handy and found joy in fixing things for others. He was a member of the AT&T Pioneers, where he volunteered countless hours repairing audio equipment for the visually impaired so they could listen to books on tape. Once a week, he would meet up with friends in King of Prussia to enjoy lunch together. Family was the most important thing to Bill. He enjoyed traveling and taking his grandchildren to baseball games near his home, where he could spoil them with treats.

Mr. Harbison is survived by Three Sons, William (Madelyn) Harbison Jr., James G. (Donna) Rogers, Jeffrey L. (Maureen) Rogers; Daughter, Monica (Charles) Shouey; Two Brothers, John (Mary) Harbison, Robert (Irene) Harbison; Ten Grandchildren; and Nine Great-Grandchildren. Mr. Harbison was pre-deceased by Father, Charles Harbison, Mother, Mary (Betz) Harbison, Brother, Jerry Harbison, and Granddaughters, Teresa Lynn Kresge and Cynthia Elizabeth Harbison

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass at St. Ann Chapel, 604 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Burial will be held in the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 10am -11am at St. Ann’s Chapel, Phoenixville. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Bill
