William J. McCarron, 94, of Phoenixville Pa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Paoli Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 14, 1927 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William Patrick and Mary McCarron, and loving husband of the late Dolores (Gerogetti) McCarron

Mr. McCarron was an attendee of the West Catholic High School in Philadelphia until he volunteered into service at age 17 to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. When the war concluded and he returned, and obtained his GED. He was awarded multiple service medals and honors. He is now enshrined as a war hero at the PA Veterans Museum in Media, Pa.

After his return from the military, he would go on to acquire a job with Philadelphia Local 14 Insulators and Asbestos Workers, a member for 75 years. For 25 years he was their historian and held the honor of being the oldest living card holding member until his death.

Mr. McCarron was involved in many community groups and organizations, including a prominent member and leader of the Boy Scouts of America, the local VFW, a life member of the Phoenixville American Legion and a dedicated member of the Retirees group of Local 14 Insulators and Asbestos Workers.

But most of all, Mr. McCarron cherished the time he was able to spend with his family - he was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be missed by many.

Mr. McCarron is survived by his two sons, William P. McCarron, husband of Becky McCarron of Phoenixville, Kenneth T. McCarron, fiancé of Kathleen Hartsell of Pottstown; Four grandchildren, Heather Cluskey, wife of Graeme, Megan McCarron, fiancé of Justin English, Patrick McCarron and William F. McCarron, husband of Ariel Husted; Two great granddaughters, Skye and Keira McCarron.
William is also survived by his two sister in laws, Arlene Kuntz of California, and his dearest and best friend Mildred “Sis” Bailiff of East Norriton.

In addition to his parents and loving wife of 55 years, Mr. McCarron was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward McCarron, husband of Antoinette “Toni” McCarron, and Helen Martin, wife of Larry Martin; and one brother in law, Benjamin Georgetti, husband of Theresa Georgetti.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the viewing for William on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 610 S Main St, Phoenixville PA 19460. A funeral Mass will follow at St. Ann’s Chapel, 604 S. Main St, Phoenixville. Officiating will be the Reverend John J. Newns. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
