William J. "Bill" Peters, beloved husband of Cameron (Pompizzi) Peters of Phoenixville, passed away on May 15, 2025, after a heroic two-month battle. He was 77 years old.

Bill was born in Norristown to William J. Sr. and Catherine (Ritchie) Peters, graduated from Norristown High School, and enlisted in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam with Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion 14th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, receiving the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Expert Qualification Badge (Rifle) among others. Bill's service to his country was a source of incredible pride for him and he channeled that pride into continuous service of and support for Veterans in the Phoenixville community. As part of that service, Cameron Peters Floral Design, the business Bill and Cameron owned together, provided beautiful memorial wreaths to be placed at the Veterans' Memorial in Reeves Park during the Dogwood Parade, held each year to honor Armed Forces Day.

Service to the community was always in Bill's nature. He was certified as one of the first paramedics in Pennsylvania and went on to serve in many capacities including on the boards of directors for the Delaware Valley Regional Poison Control Center, the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council, and as a Safety Officer for Springfield Township School District. He was the president of the International Firefighters Association Local I-43, Director of the Borough of Norristown Office of Emergency Management, Director of the Montgomery County Division of Emergency Medical Services, and Director of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. Bill also served as a member of numerous emergency service and safety councils including the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Joint Panel on Emergency Services, the Montgomery County 911 Study Task Force, and the Delaware Valley Regional Healthcare Council Disaster Preparedness Task Force. He received certifications from the National Fire Academy and served with fire departments including Spring Mill in Conshohocken and Fairmount Fire Company where he was a life member.

Bill's "retirement" career, a joint-venture floral design studio with his devoted wife Cameron, introduced him to Phoenixville where his good nature made him a much-loved member of the community. He was a permanent fixture in the shop and everyone who visited truly loved talking with him and appreciated both his sense of humor and his genuine joy.

His most significant roles, the ones he adored and placed above all others, were the ones he had within his family. Bill was a beloved husband to wife Cameron, amazing father to his children John, husband of Julia; Missy, wife to Kenneth Yetter; and the late Michael C. Peters and his wife Cher. He was a devoted Pop Pop to his grandbabies Ken, Brooks, Ryan, and Isabelle, and a loving brother to Joseph Peters and his late wife Peggy. He was also a cat dad to his beloved cat Felix.

Saying 'Bill will be missed' does not begin to scratch the surface of the enormity of this loss to his family, his friends, and to the community. His passing has been felt deeply by everyone who had the honor of knowing him and being part of his life.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc. Main Street, at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. Friends will be received from 9:30 - 11:00 am.
