William "Bill" Hunsberger, Jr., 75, of Spring City, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his family home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He shared nearly 54 wonderful years of marriage with his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Judie.
Born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Bill was the son of the late William Hunsberger, Sr. and Doris (Fox) Hunsberger. Above all else, Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was firmly rooted in faith, family, and love. He loved the Lord deeply and faithfully modeled his Christian faith through both word and example. Blessed with a love for music and a gift for singing, he joyfully used his voice to praise his Savior and passed that same love of music on to his children.
Bill attended Spring-Ford High School, where his passion and talent for sports quickly became evident. A standout athlete in both baseball and basketball, his exceptional basketball ability earned him the nickname "Ace." Following high school, he attended Delaware Valley University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After beginning his career at Lawn and Golf in Phoenixville, Bill spent many dedicated years with C.W. Thomas in Philadelphia.
His love of sports remained a constant throughout his life. Bill dedicated 50 years to officiating basketball and was highly respected throughout the PIAA community for his integrity, fairness, and commitment to the game. He also enjoyed hunting, shooting, and, in later years, playing pickleball. As his passion for pickleball grew, he proudly earned two silver medals in the Senior Games.
In addition to his own love of sports, one of Bill's greatest joys was cheering on his grandchildren as they participated in a variety of sports and activities. He treasured the time spent teaching them to shoot, hunt, and play basketball and pickleball, creating memories and traditions they will carry with them always.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Judie (Bosler) Hunsberger; his son, Gregory (Jennifer) Hunsberger of South Coventry; his daughter, Stacy (James) Stargel of Harrisburg; his six cherished grandchildren, Cole, Kaylee, Ava, Eli, Caleb, and Lily; and his sister, Dena (Ron) Rapp of Greenville, SC.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to World Vision, where Bill and Judie sponsored many children over the years, by visiting www.worldvision.org.
