William E. Shear, age 60, of Royersford, PA died Monday evening, April 4, 2011 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, PA. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of Ellen Mae (Bean) Shear, of Royersford, and the late Gerald J. Shear, Sr. He was a graduate of the Spring-Ford High School. A veteran, Mr. Shear served for the U.S. Army and the U.S. National Guard. He worked as a pourer for the Mingo Foundry in Spring City, PA. Mr. Shear volunteered at the Montgomery County Geriatric and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Providence for over 3 years. He was a member of the Royersford VFW.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Shear is survived by three siblings; Gerald J. Shear, Jr, husband of Edna "Mikki" Shear, of Bechtelsville, PA, Ruth A. Bengel, of Phoenixville, PA, Mary E., wife of John Rosky, of Spring City, PA, nine nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
