William H. Wagner Jr., age 87, husband of Sharon (O'Donnell) Wagner, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Spring Mill Senior Living. Born on October 15, 1935 in Oak Park, Illinois, he was the son of the late Louise (Parker) and William H. Wagner.

Proud to be a Marine, Bill graduated from Officer's Candidate School and honorably served in the United States Marine Corp until he was discharged as a Captain. He attended Denison University in Granville, OH, where he played four years of varsity football and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Bill kept in touch with his fraternity brothers and over the last 30 years attended reunions all over the United States, enjoying the fellowship.

He had been employed 30 years with Sewell Plastics which later became Constar International and eventually Crown Cork and Seal Company before his retirement in 2000. Even from a young age, Bill had a gift for reaching out and helping people who typically don't receive help or that others may not have been comfortable helping. He volunteered many meaningful years with Citizens Advocacy in Phoenixville and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Veterans Center, where he enjoyed talking with residents. He was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Phoenixville, Pa, where he served as an elder. December to April was a special time for Bill, as he and Sharon wintered in Florida, where he enjoyed walking the beach, fishing with friends and being in the sunshine.

In addition to his loving wife of 65 years, Bill is survived by his daughter: Kelly Wright, of Norfolk, VA; sister: Carolyn MacIntosh, of Western Springs, IL; brother-in-law: Terry (Judy) O'Donnell, of Orlando, FL; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: William H. Wagner, III; and son-in-law, Michael Wright.
