Willie Mae Hampton, age 92, wife of the late Wastine Hampton, of Wilson, NC, formerly Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Born on April 29, 1927 in Devereux, GA, she was a daughter of the late Will and Susie Ruff.

Mr. Hampton worked as a certified nursing assistant at the former Charles Johnson Home. She was a faithful and loving member for over 60 years of Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville, where she served as a deaconess. She had worked for the Batts family in King of Prussia, and was well known for her cooking and friendliness.

Mrs. Hampton is survived by five children, Elnora Beckham of Milledgeville, GA, Kay Ramsay of Spring City, PA, Evelyn Ann McCray of Lansdowne, PA, Johnnie, wife of Isaac R. Evans of Wilson, NC, and David Jackson of York, PA; twelve grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Ruff of Oroville, CA; sister-in-law, Mattie Ruff of Sparta, GA; cousins, Elizabeth and Stewart King of Plainfield, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two devoted caregivers, Ms. Phyllis Gordon and Mary Ruffin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the Bethel Baptist Church, 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Nathan Coleman. Burial will be held in the Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville. Friends will be received from 9:00 am - 10:45 am Friday at the Church.
